Snap is taking its augmented-reality glasses beyond consumer experimentation and aiming directly at businesses, a move that could test whether smart glasses can become useful workplace tools rather than niche gadgets.

Reuters reported that Snap is working with technology partners including Salesforce and Nvidia as it targets enterprise uses for its Specs glasses. The strategy combines augmented reality with artificial intelligence, allowing digital information and AI-powered tools to appear in a user’s field of view.

The important question is not whether smart glasses look futuristic. It is whether they can save enough time, reduce enough errors or improve enough workflows to justify their cost and complexity.
